SERMONCENTRAL ON THE LAST 7 STATEMENTS OF JESUS

Summary:  An analysis of Jesus’ first word on the cross, as set forth in Luke 23:34, teaches us about forgiveness.   Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing” ( Luke 23:34 ). Herbert Lockyer, in his book titled, All the Last Words of Saints and Sinners, says, "The last words of both saints and sinners about to enter eternity, what they had to say before their stammering tongues lay silent in the grave, demands our deepest attention and most earnest concern.
