 PRAYER OF R.E.S.T

Do you feel too busy to pray? Then you’re invited to find REST in God’s loving presence.

Let’s face it: we all know we should be praying more. And we genuinely try to make it happen! But before we know it, the day’s worries and demands often distract us from conversation with God, and we’re left wondering why we don’t hear from Him. It happens to all of us.

In a book titled Prayers of REST: Daily Prompts to Hear God’s Voice, the author,Asheritah Ciuciu offer us believers a respite from our spiritual to-do list. She provides guided prayers that will focus our minds and hearts on Scripture.


 Using a memorable acronym and daily Bible verses, this prayer devotional guides us through worship, confession, stillness and surrender.



In the acronym we learn to:


Prayers of Rest

- Recite God's Goodness

  • Praise God for who He is and what He has done in your life.

Declare your confidence that God is who He says He is, and He will do what He said He will do.

- Express Your Neediness

  • Confess your sins and receive His forgiveness, then boldly present your requests to Him.

- Seek His Stillness

  • Quiet yourself in God's loving presence, then listen to His still, small voice.

We shouldn't  let distractions pull us away from God. When the duties of life begin to weigh on our minds . . . that’s exactly when we need to REST in the Lord.

Summary:  An analysis of Jesus’ first word on the cross, as set forth in Luke 23:34, teaches us about forgiveness.   Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing” ( Luke 23:34 ).
